Problems with all the add on software (Spectral Layers etc)

I upgraded with Magix to Vegas Pro 18 in September 2020
I have been using Vegas 18 (now build 373) successfully, albeit with frequent crashes (fewer since I turned off graphics acceleration)

One attraction of upgrading from V17 to V18 was the inclusion of SpectraLayers to improve handling of audio files in video.

I downloaded SpectraLayers and my activation code.

I was unable to successfully install SpectraLayers. It installed up to a point and then I got a succession of error messages about some files it was trying to replace in my system. I have instead had to install a 'trial' version from Steinberg with a trial activation code and no apparent route to inputting my "Magix" code.

Nor have I been able to use Borisfxparticle or NewBlueElements 3 Overlay which seem to install but are then invisible on the system (although I inserted the activation code for NewBlue Elements).

Does anyone have any expertise on this? It does not seem possible to ask tech support at Magix - I just spent half an hour on the website being sent around in circles without being allowed to ask them a question. How can these adds on be activated and used?
Specific guidance would be very much appreciated.

My system is a x64-based PC
