Program does not open

Natalie-Duran wrote on 7/29/2021, 2:59 PM

Whenever I try to open Movie Edit Pro Premium, which I just purchased today, I am immediately given a crash log screen. I have tried sending a crash report but that doesn't seem to be working. I have latest version of Windows 10. Attached is a screenshot of the two prompts that immediately pop up when I try to open the program. Any help would be great!

@Natalie-Duran

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

On the second screenshot you show is an option to Display Crash Log. Please click it, and save its contents as a .txt file.

Then copy and paste it it all to your next reply. Hopefully it will give some indication of what the problem is and enable us to possibly offer advice as to how to avoid it.

8G

@Natalie-Duran

What's concerning me are these two lines.

Used Memory: 785 MB             Max Used Memory: 785 MB
Free Virtual Memory: 3790 MB     Total Virtual Memory: 131072 GB

The first line is showing there is not much ram for the program to load into but in theory 8GB of ram should be enough. There may be too many background apps open and using up the actual ram.

However the second line of total virtual memory of 131072 GB is far too much. Who set that up?

It's best never to set total virtual memory to exceed the amount of actual system ram so either let windows decide how much to set or set the maximum to 8GB. The 3.7GB lower limit could be made higher but don't get too close to the maximum set.

There is also a possibility that you also don't have much free C: drive space left as well. Please check.

Ray.
