Programme error message

john-jory wrote on 12/28/2020, 3:52 AM

I haven't used the software for three months.

When I try to open it the following Error Message Appears:

Error in Module ïgdrcl64.dll "

(Load Address: 0x00007FFE24DA0000) to address: 0x00007FFE24FA1A8E (Exception 0xc0000005 ÄCCESS_VIOLATION")

When I cancel the message window the whole programme closes down, and when I open it again the same thing happens. Over and over.

If I move it out of the way I can still work on the programme, but it is highly annoying.

I have Movie Edit Premium Pro 18.0.1.209 (UDB3) and the latest Windows software on my PC.

Thank-you.

@john-jory

The error message you are seeing refers to an intel graphics control module. it would be very useful if you were to add the full details of your computer specification to your signature but, as a first step I would check that all the appropriate drivers for your intel CPU are installed. This page is where you can check whether all your intel drivers are fully up to date.

Hi

. . . .  Intel Driver & Support Assistant, which replied with: "No supported driver or software updates are available for your system." . . . .

What is the driver version you have installed - the latest DCH driver for your processor is 27.20.100.9079 dated 12/23/2020

This seems to be a constant problem to some users (including me): whenever Intel updates its graphics driver, we get that error message. So far, I have managed to solve it by installing the latest driver. But it is a pretty annoying feature for this program. Could Magix do something to solve this?

Or at least, since there seems to be several people who ask about this and start a new topic, could one of these topics made sticky?

If updating the drivers fixes the issue, then it is not the program that is causing the errors.

Two possibilities are:

  1. the old driver not supporting a feature that MEP requires eg support for a later version of DirectX

    or

  2. there was a bug in the older driver that was affecting some users.

I'm not sure if either of those possibilities applies... Earlier this autumn, I had the (then) latest driver (v...9030) installed, I didn't get those error messages, and MEP was working fine. So I assume, that v...9030 did support all the necessary features and wasn't buggy.

Then, around Xmas, I got this error message again. Since this had happened a couple of times before, I knew to go to Intel Graphics Driver page, and found out that a new driver had been published 12/23/2020. I installed it (v...9079), and the error messages stopped. And I guess, that when Intel publishes the next driver, I'll get this error message again.
