Project will not burn.

I'm using Windows 7 Magix 2013 on an HP laptop and I'm able to burn other projects but not this 1 hr. 50 min. project. I used the slowest settings to try and fit it onto a normal sized DVDR and got error messages: ERROR: :Cannot get device/media specific information -> functionality is not provided by device or by system. Tried double density disc but still won't work. Even rebuilt the whole thing by exporting all video and re-inserting them one by one. No go. :(

Help,

I should have said that it won't even render a disk image. It starts to do that and then quits with an error message. When I eliminated the intro video it worked. Thanks for answering. Mike

Hi Mike,

Have you eliminated MEP's physical burn process as a cause? IOW, can you successfully play the DVD folder automatically created by MEP, located as specified in the Folder tab of Program Settings?

I never burn from MEP, which I've found unreliable. When the message appears asking me to insert a disc, I click Cancel. Then I check that the DVD folder automatically rendered by MEP plays OK. I use VLC for that. Then I finally burn it with the versatile and reliable (and free) burner ImgBurn.

Hi

Can you post the error log from the start of the burn process ie the line with date and time only on it surrounded by hyphens, to the point where the error occurs.

John

I also tried rendering everything to mpg2 files and re-importing the whole job into a new project and that did not work either.

I think I figured out that the intro video clip has a problem. I eliminated it and it seems to be working now!

Thanks for your input.
