"Qt5GuiMx64Qt57.dll"

j.pieters1 wrote on 2/6/2021, 4:38 AM

Hi,

I think I'd probably start by checking if there are duplicates of that file and comparing their sizes. On my PC I have only one (apart from my backups):

Location: C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Premium\2017
Size: 5.68 MB (5,960,192 bytes)
Size on disk: 5.68 MB (5,963,776 bytes)

If there was any hint at all that it might be corrupted or subject to ambiguity over its location, I'd replace it (after the usual precautions). You could search and download, or if you want I'll temporarily upload that file above.

Thanks for responding Terry. It seems to work for now. What I did was.........copy that same file "Qt5GuiMx64Qt57.dll" (from the location you mentioned) to c:\windows\system32 I'll just wait and see if the problem will come back. If I'm lucky the program will keep-on-rolling like it does right now. Thanks again.

Hallo Joph,

Hi All

I discovered the same problem in my copy of MEP 18.0.1.213 today: I was unable to open any menu tab other than "Import". Effects, Templates etc. caused a crash and the error popup. After reading this thread I found Qt5GuiMx64Qt57.dll in my \Program Files\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Premium\2019 folder and copied it to \System32, as suggested above and in linked threads. Problem gone, at least for now. This is a new issue for me; I hadn't encountered it previously and I don't understand why it has arisen now. A strange thing is that in one of the linked posts I found a recommendation to copy the file in the reverse direction, namely from \System32 to \Program Files\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Premium\2019. So perhaps the dll file has to be in both the above folders to avoid an eventual crash?

A very vexatious anomaly...

Hai Richard, I still have Qt5GuiMx64Qt57.dll in both directories mentioned above. It still crashes the first time if I start with the <effects>- menu. When I restart the program, it keeps on working up to now. A other thing which seems to make a difference, is to start the program as the Administrator. You do this by right click on the program pictogram and choose <start as Administrator>. ......

Hi

. . . . A other thing which seems to make a difference, is to start the program as the Administrator. . . . .

The Folder/Ransomware/Real time protection feature of several antivirus programs has been known to interfere with some Magix programs running correctly. Check you antivirus Folder/Ransomware/Real time protection feature is not blocking MEP, or has quarantined any of its components.

In Windows Graphics ensure MEP is set to use the Power saving GPU, if you have one, as shown below

and in program settings that MEP is using the Intel integrated GPU, if you have one, as shown below irrespective of any Nvidia or AMD graphics card that is also installed.

If you do not have an Intel processor with integrated GPU, leave the above settings as you find them and try turning off the 2 hardware acceleration options in the Program settings, Import/Export dialog.

Added: have you used Video Sound Cleaning Lab or Audio Cleaning Lab to clean up some audio in a video project just before the error occurred?

Hi John

Thank you - these are interesting and somewhat arcane solutions to an arcane problem! I can't find the suggested folder in Norton 360 so I haven't acted on that suggestion; I'm already switched to Power Saving GPU; but my video mode box shows the 1660Ti GPU, not the UHD630. Nevertheless, the problem seems to have disappeared for now, as I reported above. However, it wouldn't amaze me to be told that the problem would have arisen at the time I got the UHD 630 graphics up and running in conjunction with the 1660Ti just a few days ago. If it occurs again I'll change the video mode box to UHD 630 and see if that fixes it for good.

Added: No, I have ACL but haven't used it for a year or so.

Hi

The only issue I find now on starting MEP is the spate of Magix adverts that hold everything up. I found it helps to let Magix do its thing for a minute or so before attempting to delete these popups - after which they go quietly. Once I'm sure I have everything working properly on this MEP 2019 install I shall do whatever I can to isolate it from Magix.

‎‎Hi Joph,

If you put a check mark at: "Run as administrator" in the advanced properties, you start MEP immediately as an administrator.

Good afternoon, I upgraded: MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2021 Premium, I have an Asus Pro duo computer that only has a Wifi network, and I have a 500MB net, cheaper to have up to 350MB, the problem is that it gives me a communication error when I do the donwload to install the program, someone will be able to help me, I already installed it on another computer with a cable network and no problem., but I want this one because it is special for editing,

Hello forum members,

I fully agree with what John EB describes, certain components are put in quarantine by eg virus scanners or real-time programs such as Acronis True Image.

The Graphics preferences are set to "Let Windows decide".
I myself leave the Video Mode on the Video card, with which the monitor is connected to my PC

The error message Qt5GuiMx64Qt57.dll is indeed related to updating and surfing to the Magix server.
Do you happen to have MAGIX PC Check & Tuning 20xx installed on your PC, because this can sometimes cause your problem. For the advertisements, see this link

Hi Joph

. . . . I use the options <audio cleaning> inside Video Deluxe. . . . .

There should be no issue using the internal features.

Hi

Seems I have the same issues as yourself, with one or two others thrown in. First, I've had to discard the Headless Ghost plug on the UHD 630 card and plug my monitor into the latter (it was previously on the 1660Ti card). I had been encountering stuttering behaviour from the keyboard, which cleared as soon as I plugged the monitor into the UHD 630 port. So far as MEP is concerned, there is no discernible difference in performance whichever GPU the monitor is plugged into, nor which GPU is selected in the arranger video mode box.

Secondly, the crash when clicking on the Effects tab returned. The suspect dll file is still in both the System32 and the Magix folders, so is unlikely to be the (only) problem. Like you, I find that the Effects menu is only accessible on the second and subsequent occasions I load MEP.

I need MEP in order to apply Neat Video to my cine-derived videos, so it's not sensible for me to move to another program at this juncture. After I've finished with those, I'm really going to have to try out other programs.

I installed Magix video deluxe 2019 again, and blocked the updater service in the windows firewall settings. Because I want to check if this update (inmediately after installation) is creating this problem. The update program is called: Service_rel_u_x64_vc12 and you can find it in: C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Video deluxe Premium\2019
