Re-edit after save and burn.

MEP 2013 plus....My problem is; I make my movie, burn and save, I play back and notice I need to re-edit. After making the adjustments, usually adding more material, transitions etc, I then burn my edited version to disc, but when viewing there has been no change to the original. Any ideas please.

Hi

. . . .  I then burn my edited version to disc, but when viewing there has been no change to the original. . . . .

When you re-burn a previously burned movie you should get this dialog box popping up

If you do not select the Encode all option then the changes you made to the movie will not be written to disc, I would also advise you to check both Rewrite options as well to avoid issues with any chapters you have added.

Thank you John, that makes sense, I did encode on the original burn, but not sure how to re- encode all on the edited version, would you know where can I edit the encode please. Merry Christmas.

Hi

. . . . not sure how to re- encode all on the edited version . . . .

This is done when you burn the edited version to disc again. When the message above appears, check the 2 Rewrite options, and click Encode all.

The burn will then re-encode everything that is on the timeline and write it to disc.

Tip: if you are not doing so use rewriteable discs, DVD-RW or BD-RE depending on whether you are making a DVD or Blu-Ray disc, for the initial burns, you can then re-use them if you find you have to make changes. Once you have the movie/disc as you want it then you can copy the rewriteable disc to permanent disc DVD-R or BD-R using MEP or another disc burning program - saves money and creating 'coasters'

Brilliant, I see what I was doing wrong, when re-editing, I would click the save button, But when I re-edited this time, I just went straight to burn, this then gave me the pop up option of encode. All is now working as it should. Many thanks John. Happy New Year.
