Rendering the selected loop

I have used SONY Vegas for over 10 years and recently purchased the new MAGIX Movie Studio 14.0 Premium. Despite selecting, marking or otherwise indicating the region I wanted and selecting render selected loop only in the selection box of Make Movie, it will only render the entire video on the timeline instead of only the segment I selected. I have never had this problem before. Any ideas?
