@jose-fazenda

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

No, there is no need to uninstall your old version before installing the new one. All recent updated versions of MEP do automatically uninstall the immediate predecessor but, since yours is now quite old, it should be left untouched by the new version.

One thing to remember: your old version is almost certainly 32 bit; all current versions are 64 bit so you need to have a 64 bit versions of Windows.

Jeff,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I only use the video editor very rarely and that explains why I still have the very old version, but I have 64bit machine and Win version for quite some time and that is the reason why I am thinking of buying a new version, in the hope that it will work faster on the 64bit gear.

And the reason why I would like to keep the old one, at least for a while, is because I want to check how much I will have to re-learn and to confirm compatibility with old projects.

Now I think I will go ahead with the purchase of the current version.

Best regards, JF
