If you used the Live Pad before going back to using the midi keyboard in the Music Maker arranger area you need to click on the gear icon on the Live Pad and click on reset.

Hi,

Loops and their instruments are completely different from MIDI instruments. You cannot play the Loops instruments, only the samples (loops) that are under that instrument.

To play an instrument, you have to load it for the track and arm the track for MIDI record. If you have different instruments on two tracks, you have to arm the track for the instrument that you want.

I strongly suggest that you read the manual and watch the Magix tutorials.

Hello John,
To help other, it is not possible to simultaneously record a performance with the Live Pad and record midi with virtual instruments as you have specified.
You can record a performance with the Live Pad by loading the loops inside its panel but to go back to recording with the virtual instruments with our keyboard, you must first reset it otherwise it will not work with the midi tracks.
At least in my case, that's how it works with the Launchkey Mini Mk3.
But in the Music Maker 2021 manual there is no mention of this procedure.
And the version of MM sold with this model of midi keyboard exists on the market ...
