Richo Theta V Spatial Audio not working

harding_family wrote on 3/18/2018, 9:47 AM

Hi

I've have a Ricoh Theta V and try as I may I cannot get it to work in Movie Edit Pro 2018.

I have so many problems when trying to edit any 360 Video with it.

I have tried the Support, and Help Forums at Magix, Ricoh, Microsoft and other websites, but all just seem to just push me off to the next organisation.

Has anyone successfully edited a Ricoh Theta V 360 video, and kept the proper video orientation for the two halves of the sphere AND kept the true Spatial Audio?

All the specifications required are more than matched by my PC running Windows 7

Please can anyone else help me with this?

Tim

Hi

Have you seen this article and accompanying videos? Although it refers to MEP 2016 the principles are valid for MEP 2018, though some of the tabs are different.

Also use the search function with the term Ricoh Theta - you should find several topics.

. . . . All the specifications required are more than matched by my PC running Windows 7 . . . .

To help us help you, please put your computer specification and Magix program full names and version numbers in your signature, so that we do not have to ask for them.

What are the problems?

Hi John EB

thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately the article you refer to I have already tried, but it does not work with the Ricoh Theta V.

There are several Theta 360 Cameras available, the Theta V is the latest model that supports Spatial Audio, the earlier models do not.

I have previously included all the specifications of my PC using the Magix System Interrogation Tool

But it is a PC running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1

Some of the problems am am experiencing have been expressed in

https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/spatial-audio-from-ricoh-theta-v-not-exporting--1198353/

But to date no resolution has been found.

Likewise my inquiries to Ricoh have also not aided me towards a resolution to this problem.

I cannot be the only person using Magix MEP and a Ricoh Theta V Camera.

So if someone somewhere has got there's to work, please can they let us know how they did it?

Kind Regards

Tim

Tim,

I strongly suspect that what John EB wrote in his reply to your other thread; AFAICS - as you have found you can have one or the other but not both  is still correct.

I don't have the facility to test 5.1 or Surround in Video Pro X, or I might suggest you post a very short clip somewhere (not to the forum) for others who use VPX to test whether it is possible to export the video and surround sound in that app. However, I also suspect that the fact that no-one else has replied to either this thread or your earlier one might well mean that no-one else actually has or uses this particular camera with MEP.
