RunTime error when i Bring up the software to use it!

jembrite wrote on 1/30/2014, 5:37 PM

I came up with a runtime error window saying program files(x86)\magix\movie\_edit_pro_17_plus\video delux.exe. and it also states runtime error.

This window comes up as the software is loading in the background.

My hard drive is a 500 GB

My operating system is

HP-Compaq Pro 6305 MT

12.0 GB RAM

54 bit operating system

2 processor cores.

The name of the software is Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus hd.

Kindly let me know what is wrong and if my system is able to accept it?

Thank You

Hi,

What is your operating system? I hope that it is not HP something, but rather Windows something. If you are using version 8 with an old program, that could be the problem. 54bits?

Did you change anything significant recently?

Did MEP work before?

I presume that you are talking about MEP 17?

Hi,

Good, MEP 17 should have no problem running on your hardware and operating system.

Could you describe what you did up to this point so we know what to look for? Did you install from CD's or download? Did you register it with Magix previously? Did the program install correctly and start up the first time? At which point does the error occur?

This is an old program, but it works fine on my computer, also an HP, with Windows 7.

It was loaded from the cd(Box version). It happens as soon as it starts to load the software. That window appears first very quickly sounding a short beep as the main magix window appears. The software loads as it usually would but that window stays behind the main window and will not go away until you get out of the program.I was told to try "Total Defense" computer tune up software(suppose to install updated drivers) and did that but to no avail. The softward actually works well, that is until i want to burn a dvd after the editing process but it will not burn the dvd.I've UNLOADED the software as it was wearing me down trying to get it to work right.I've had many magix programs on older computer's that worked well with an occasional glich in a few of their older programs.Seems i've always had to find one that eventually worked for me.Some of these magix programs have given me some problems in the past, like freezes while working with them.Magix edit pro 10 was one.And there was one other that would actually shut my cumputer down and restarted automatically.
