Samplitude 10 Pro, Windows 10, CodeMeter of WIBU-KEY not recognized

Dan-Wallace wrote on 2/15/2021, 4:58 PM

I'm attempting to run Samplitude 10 Pro on a new Dell XPS 8940 running Windows 10. It seemed to install fine (after I launched the installer in compatibility mode). But when I try to open Samplitude, I get the message "CodeMeter of WIBU-KEY runtime system is not installed!"

That message appears whether or not I have the dongle inserted (which works fine, by the way, on my old Dell running Windows 7).

I installed the Windows 32/64-Bit CodeMeter User Runtime for Windows from here:

https://www.wibu.com/us/support/user/downloads-user-software.html

That made no difference. What else can I do?

EDIT: Looks like I can upgrade at a discount (i.e., for $200 at Sweetwater) to Samplitude X5 since my version is "Pro." Am I reading that right? I imagine this would be the easiest solution :)
