Samplitude keeps crashing with ASIO4All

This problem suddenly started happening yesterday, and it is making it impossible to continue working on my current project.

Windows 11 64-bit, Samplitude Studio 2023. ASIO4All has always worked fine when I want to record MIDI, but yesterday it stopped. Now as soon as I switch to ASIO and then try to do anything, the whole program freezes and I have to go to Task Manager to close it. Sometimes switching to WDM or MME will at least let me listen to what I've already recorded, sometimes that freezes too. And on the rare instances when I have been able to still get it to work with ASIO4All, there's noticeable latency that wasn't there before.

Also, even after Samplitude freezes, I can still play standalone virtual instruments normally. So it seems like the problem is specific to Samplitude, rather than ASIO4All across the board.

Restarting the computer has not helped. Reinstalling ASIO4All has not helped. What else do I need to do to get this working normally again?

@psychojosh13 Do you use the newest version of ASIO4ALL?

You can reset the program settings of Samplitude via its Help menu. If I remember it correctly the menu entry is called "restore default behavior". Be aware, in case you have custom shortcuts or a custom GUI layout, you may lose them, because after resetting the settings the program will work like a fresh install.

So far so good, thanks! And yes, it is the most recent version of ASIO4All on their website.

I also noticed that I was still getting a small latency issue while recording MIDI, and that it seemed to be caused by a specific effect plugin on the track I was recording - once I turned off that one effect, the latency went away. Is it possible that same plugin was responsible for the ASIO problem?
