Hi Conductor,

Thank you for this respons, allthough it sad to read.

You wrote "Now you actually have to hack the Registry every time you reinstall". Can you explain step by step how I do that? Thank you.

@Conductor

I have hidden your post to this thread since,

  1. It is a duplicate of what you have posted elsewhere
  2. It is really irrelevant to the direct question the OP asks. The registry problem is not one found with SF 14
  3. You seem to wish to rant, a practice which is against the Community rules, #1, to be found in the footer of every forum page.

@RFA-Rijkers, it is almost certain that the registry "hack" that Conductor refers to is completely irrelevant to your problem.

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge community @RFA-Rijkers

What version SF 14 are you using? What is the file format of the file you are encoding, on th Exactly what encode settings or preset i.e,, CBR, VRR, stereo, joint stereo, quality. ect.

My results for Pro 14 build 112, 3 min stereo Wave file was approx 4 sec. encoding to 320kbs, 44.1kHz, CBR stereo, quality to max.

Hi Jeff

Thank you for responding.

I'm not here to do anything illegal. I'm here to find answers to a big problem for a bug in Sound Forge 14 that i bought. Version 10 stopt working after the recent Windows updates!!!

Any solution, any support by Magix or this forum is welcome. Now i record my lp and i have to wait 20 minutes or more after each song. That's 4 full houres per lp. That frustrating. Is it illegal to sell a product that doesn't function properly?

Hi rraud

Thank you for your participation in this quest.

I did what you suggested: saving it as a wav-file at 48.000 Hz; 32 Bit (IEEE Float); Stereo; Float. In seconds the file is saved. So in this way i can use the very Sound Forge good tool of audio restauration.

I shall open the wave file with Audacity to transfer it to mp3.

Thank you so much fot this solution.

Let's hope Magix is going to update Soundforge to kill the MP3 bug.

Stay healthy and save

Reinstalling SF has worked for others when MP3 playback and/or encoding did not work.

FWIW, WinLAME RC3 is a good sounding fast MP3 encoder and has more encode options than SF's Fraunhofer encoder. Of course you would need to render an intermediate file if you are editing in SF though

I did re-install but without success.

Now i can quickly save each track of a lp as wav. Later transfer it to mp3. That's only a few minutes extra. A complete lp is recorded and with restauration saved in one hour.

I have a problem like this. I take an MP3 file and cut a piece. Send Save to MP3. In 32-bit SF saves in 4 seconds In 64-bit SF saves in 120 seconds. The same file.
