Screen Capture not working in Movie Edit Pro 2015 Plus

RP1000 wrote on 9/24/2015, 3:21 PM

Hello. Im trying to record a website demonstration using screen capture.

No problems with this previously, but now when I click the recording button in the screen capture dialogue box, the capture window comes up and the sorfware minimises as expected, but the additional box that enables you to start and stop the screen recording is nowhere to be seen on my screen!

So I am not able to record. I have attached screen shots of before I click record, and after I hit record, but as you can see no box to start and stop the recording is there.

Any ideas what the problem is?. Thank you.

Hi

I suspect the dialog you are looking for is off screen, try resetting the window arrangement (F9) and see if it reappears.

Thats great cheers it worked. Also I had a dual monitor config that I didnt mention so I reset that to single screen just for that task and the box appeared. Cheers.

Hi

Pleased to hear you aree now working again.

. . . . a dual monitor config . . . .

Are the two monitors identical or is their resolution different?

I had two monitors with different resolutions and aspect ratios, the hires 1600*1000 (16:10) for the program windows and the 1280 x 1024 (4:3) for the preview monitor, and found that if I moved some panes from the higher resolution monitor to the lower they would disaapear or be partially visible.

Hi. Well I’m running a laptop with a USB VGA display adapter so my two main screens have matching res and aspect ratio, however I suppose there is technically a third screen (the actual laptop screen) that is disabled, but that laptop screen has a different res and aspect.

I had rearranged the software desktop window from the default to my own preference as well.

When I set the config back to single screen, then hit F9 everything worked as it should again.

I’m not sure how much benefit I’m necessarily finding to running Move Edit Pro over dual screens to be honest. I just happen to have a dual screen for my work / business anyway, so Im just using Move Edit Pro to produce a few videos to promote my firm. Im not a regular user of the product but I just prefer the window arrangement I have here to the default. Photo attached just for info.
Cheers.

Hi,

I use 2 screens. I moved the preview monitor window to the left screen, full screen, and keep the right screen for the media pool and timeline, again, full screen.

In your case, it looks like you just dragged the left edge over onto the left screen. The 3 windows, Monitor, Media Pool, Project window (timeline) are all detachable and movable.
