Setting markers

DMerg wrote on 4/6/2021, 12:02 PM

I am trying to edit video and audio in Video Pro X and each time I set the marker, once I play the clip and then stop it, the marker advances to the stop point - instead of returning to the last marker position. How do I prevent this? I want the marker to return to the marker position in the clip that I originally set it at.

Hi

. . . . once I play the clip and then stop it, the marker advances to the stop point - instead of returning to the last marker position . . . .

This is normal behaviour when the Spacebar behaviour option is set to stop at current position in the Program settings, Playback tab., unchecking this option the playback marker will return to its start point.

You may also want to look at using Project Markers - see the installed PDF manual available under Help on how to set and use them.

Hi,

Further to what John EB mentioned, I suggest that you look under:

C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Video Pro X\12

for this file:

Shortcuts_EN.pdf

print it out and go through it, highlighting anything that you might like to remember to use. I keep mine handy.

In the program, look under Edit, Markers. There are Project Markers, Snap Markers, and Chapter Markers and Ranges. You need to learn how to use them and jump to them, as they are very useful. The playback marker does not go to one of these markers using play and stop, but you can use shortcuts to move the playback marker to them.
