Settings - CPU or GPU - Video Delux Premium 2026

SHANE-KOHUT wrote on 1/12/2026, 8:18 PM

Hi everyone

I have a high end CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor

64gb Ram

Geforce RTX 3080ti GPU

Should I leave the settings within the program as is with the GPU or change it to my CPU? With these specs what would help the program run better?

Certainly for export, use the 3080 for MP4-type source files. My 3060 is probably 5 times faster than the CPU export. For other source file types such as AVI, I find using the iGPU in my Intel CPU sometimes yields faster exports.

Then again, I have read that CPU exports generally yield better-quality exports. I haven't noticed. 😉

If you use Neat Video, definitely use the GPU.

As far as timeline performance goes, I use the GPU for import and processing and things are pretty smooth. If you encounter any stuttering or delay, try the other options.

Hi

As I mentioned in your previous topic there is an issue with the Nvidia drivers 591.xxx, there will be no hardware acceleration for the h.264 and h.265 video file formats if you export to either of these formats.

Do ensure that the RTX 3080Ti drivers are at version 581.80, the last versersion of the 581.xxx series for your GPU.

Additionally ensure that any automatic driver update feature or software you may have does not update the drivers for the RTX GPU, until the issue is fixed.
