Hi and welcome to the forum,

Yes, since MS18 is actually Movie Edit Pro (MEP) you can watch tutorials about MEP to see how it all works.

In MS18, assuming that you downloaded and installed the additional content, first put your images and/or video clips on the timeline on track 1, in the order that you want. Go to Edit, Wizards, Slideshow Maker and the interface will open. It's similar to the one in Vegas MS but with more features. Select a style template (everything can be changed) and look at the options. Try some out to see what they do. Note the background music. If you have selected Chillout, then you'll get the Chillout songs that you can use along with your slideshow. You can change the order by dragging selection up or down, or use your own songs. If you click on Load songs, it should open the explorer to the location of the SlideShow music - categorized by style. You can add one or more to the list in the interface. Apply. Create movie preview. Note that the durations of images and clips will change to be adjusted to the music (if using Magix music). Apply if you like it, if not, make adjustments.

Once on the timeline, if you don't like it and want to do it again, Undo and do it again.

Note that if you want to apply the slideshow features and music to only part of what is on the timeline, you can first set a range and then indicate in Slideshow Maker "Apply style to selected range." I do this in my videos where I have video footage, then a sequence of 15-30 photos. I put a range just on the the 15-20 photos, each time. This gives me some effects and music with the photos cut to the beat.

Also, take note of the other 2 Wizards, something that you didn't have in Vegas MS and that you may appreciate - Soundtrack Maker (with automatic cut adjustment if you want), and Travel Maps.
