Hi

We need more information:

  1. Computer specification - processor make/model, graphics card or chipset, RAM, hard drive size and free space?

  2. Windows version and is it up to date?

  3. Software full name and version number - see under Help, About . . .

  4. Format and resolution of the video you are trying to import to the timeline

. . . . it say's there's a project, i save it, X it out - but it's black/blank and won't go away . . . .

Can you also explain more precisely how and what you are doing please.

Also please read this post before replying and add any other information you think may be relevant.

Sorry, missed the last part of what you asked (Dyslexia & ADDH) Okay, eventually wish to make a movie of my supernatural life.😇 Present project: i've taken 30 photos to make an animated video. But the movement is slow and jerky. I use the cross fades in between, but still need to move faster. Thanks Again☺

Hi

. . . . i've taken 30 photos to make an animated video. . . . .

The Speed control does not affect still images, it is for video clips on the timeline.

Using 30 photos, to create a video which is at the minimum watchable with respect to the speed and smoothness, the video will last about 2 seconds, this depends on the frame rate which, in simple terms, is the number of pictures per second.

To see the movement as relatively smooth, 15 frames (pictures) per second is about the minimum and for this you would need to reduce each image length down to 2 or 3 frames.

An alternative is to create a quick sequence of images about 1/2 to 1 sec long, with no crossfade to give a 'snap shot' sequence.

To do this:

- select all the photos on the timeline

- right click one of them an select Change photo length

- a small dialog box will open as shown below

The numbers you see represent minutes:seconds:frames in the image above the duration (length) of the the image is 7 seconds and 21 frames. If the project is set to 25 frames per second, this means 7.84 seconds.

Correction: You can change the length using the slider, then click OK and then Apply to all selected

For a duration of about 1/2 second, set the value to:

- 12 or 13 - if the project is set to 25 frames per second (fps)

- 15 - if set to 29.97 or 30 fps

- 25 - if set to 50 fps

- 30 - if set to 60 fps

You may need to move the images so they are next to each other.

Note: you can repeat the steps above varying the photo length until you get what you want

@dee-landerman

Here is an example of making a snap shot sequence

Note - my project was set to 25 frames per second - so I used a value of 12 to make the images about 1/2 second long.

Hi Dee

This is how it is done - I used a music clip, however you can also use your recorded voice or any other audio clip on the timeline - you cannot drag the effect onto a video only the audio track of a video if there is one..

Thanks again John for making me How-to video clips. As an artist, i learn from "Visuals" and not from reading. Your help is greatly appreciated.☺

Hi Dee

. . . . i transferred a rickety old video from a VHS, to a DVD, then tried my best to fix it on Magix . . .

That is a tough question because of the low quality video from the VHS tape compared to DVD.

I would suggest you add some sharpening, from the menu bar select Effects, Movie Settings, Sharpness tab, Sharpen image weak as shown in the 2 images below

and try exporting as a MP4 file using the MP4 SD preset as shown below.
