Software installed, activated, no video will play in preview window

I am using the latest version of Vegas Pro 17, latest update. Build 452. I am on a MS Surface Pro 7, i7 processor. After a Windows update (the latest one), when opening Vegas Pro 17, everything seems to work except NO VIDEO will show in the preview windows or external monitor. At one point it said I wasn't operating with Administrator Permission, but I am the Administrator and when installed is was to allow any user of the PC to use the program. I do NOT know how to fix this and this is not okay as there is NO WAY TO CALL YOU, no direct email, just this "post" area and I'm in the middle of a PAID JOB doing an edit and then this. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, everything. Logging in and out of my user profile and the system admin profile. Same results. Please help or give me a free upgrade to the next version now.
