when trying to record in Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab, says no sound card. there is a sound card installed
Is the desired 'record' interface selected in SF Audio Cleaning Lab's (ALC) audio device settings. I am not familiar with ALC, but in SF Pro it is in the "Options> Preferences> Audio" menu. Cleaning Lab may be similar.

In both SFACL 1 and 2 the setting you need to check is under File>Record. See the screenshot below and check the settings for "Sound Card".
To be clear, the settings you see on the screenshot are those for my computer. Yours will certainly be different!
