I added a plugin chain to a project, saved it, and shut it down. When I reopened it I couldn't undo the changes even though I bypassed the fx. Is there a way to save a project without it "glueing down" the changes?
Aside from duplicating the original file prior to editing, Go to "File> Save as" and select Sound Forge Pro project file. which will create a <.frg> file and a companion folder with the media. This is the non-destructive editing mode. When editing is complete, select "File> Render as" and choose the format. Everything else is the same as in the 'destructive' editing mode, which overwrites the data upon saving.
You can also select 'Allow undo past save' option in "Options> Preferences> General"
I do not know if these options are available in SF Audio Studio.
Cool. I just read up in the help file that one can click "view" then " undo/redo history" to at least remove applied fx. But if I only applied one or two fx individually without remembering the settings of each fx, I'm lost. I would have to create a plug-in chain even if it's only 1 fx in use so that I can easily go back to the drawing board, so to speak. Not necessarily a deal-breaker. Just another way to operate.
OK, now I see what I missed. Apparently, there's a difference between "plug-in chain" and "apply plug-in chain". The former can be found under "view" (for some reason) and the latter under "fx favorites". A bit confusing, but good to know it can be done.
