Sound Forge Audio Studio 17

Very annoyed at Magix. Yet again, one of their products has failed. There is zero point in contacting "support" as they just ignore tickets. Disfunctional company.

Sound Forge Audio Studio 17 keeps causing my PC to restart with "kernel mode heap corruption" whenever I attempt to launch it.

So now, after uninstalling, I am attempting a reinstall. The executable does not run, either in normal mode or run as administrator. Restarted my PC, no joy.

So now I have a product I paid good money for, that doesn't work.

When Sonic Foundry and Sony owned Sound Forge, it was a great piece of software. Magix have ruined it. I will never buy Magix products again.

If anyone knows of a fix though, I would be very grateful. I just want to be able to reinstall the software, but the .exe doesn't run. Perhaps there are some left over folders from the previous install that I need to delete ? Thanks in advance.

Hi @Rod-Devonshire, Are you trying to reinstall using the installation manager or the unpacked installer file.. which may still be in your 'Documents> MAGIX Downloads' folder,

When uninstalling SF, I usually recommend using a third-party uninstaller like 'Revo Uninstall' that can also remove left-over registry entries and other pertinent data the OS uninstall leaves behind which can cause issues to reoccur.

That is almost certainly correct, unfortunately!

As a first step to try to resolve this I would suggest reading and following the M$ advice on this page.

If that does not help, post back and it may be that we can offer additional suggestions.
