Sound Gone Out of Synch

Hi,

I have been editing a film over several weeks with no issues, however, when loading it up yesterday the sound at my last edit point and then through the rest of the video is out of synch by 8 seconds. When I Ungroup the soundtrack it has moved forward by this amount on every clip.

I have restarted the system several times but the problem is still there - it is only evident on this one project - all others seem to be fine!

Any thought would be much appreciated. I am using Movie Edit Pro Premium on an i7 machine with 16Gb RAM running Windows 7.

Hi Jim,

It sound very much as though at some point, where the audio goes out of synch, that you were working with audio and video tracks unlinked. You probably deleted a video file but the audio remained and everything closed up. This would happen if you were using single track edit with unlinked audio and video or single clip edit.

It should be easy to rectify by unlinking the following audio and video tracks, then using single track edit just slide all the audio tracks back into position. It should be obvious as the cuts between clips should be in the same place on audio and video.

Thanks Roger

Good thought, however, I don't think that would be the reason as I normally edit without unlinking video & audio except on specific clips.

Re the solution, yes I think this will work - although I have also noticed that when I do unlink the tracks I am unable to select a video clip when clicking within the last 8 seconds - if I click in this area MEP selects the following clip! It is almost as though MEP isnt recognising the last 8 seconds of the video clip!

Any further thoughts would be much appreciated.
