Sound Pool not working correctly

HeavyBrew wrote on 10/11/2013, 1:56 PM

Let me first say, that I have already researched and read almost all the similiar questions asked by other members. nothing addresse my specific problem.

I just upgraded from MM 2013 to MM 2014 premium.

The Sound Pools that came with MM 2013 on CD are all are being listed in MM2014 under styles, but when I select a specific instrument. I get a screen pop "The File has been Deleted or Moved".

I have tried  "Add Styles" I selct the correct folder on my hard drive (and even tried directly from the original cd) the software says it is copying, but once complete, I select the instrument and it gives me the same screen pop.

And I will add that from within MM2014, I can select the "File Browser" drill to these styles on my hard drive. selct the instrument and see all the wav. files. If I double click one it will import it into my track like normal.

Any suggestion as to why this is happening?

Thanks

I was able to solve my problem, but thought I'd leave this up for others to benifit from. I found my solution on the Magic Technical FAQ.

Here is what it said for me to do in FAQ!

How can I reset my Soundpools in Music Maker or the Soundpools are duplicated?

If you need to reset the soundpools due to missing soundpools or items that are duplicated or are missing, then please do the following :

1. Go to the Program Settings (press Y on the keyboard).

2. On the General Tab, make sure that "Use installed Soundpool even after reset" is not ticked.

3. Go to the option reset Soundpool.

4. Click on OK.

5. Go to the Soundpool manager and click on Add Styles. If you cannot see Add Styles, make sure Easy mode is off, by clicking on the View menu and unticking the option.

6. Go to the Basics folder in your Music Maker install directory and click on OK.

On default installations :

XP : C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Music Makerxx\Basics_xx

Vista/Win7 : C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX_Music_Maker_xx\Basics_xx\

Version 2013 and above:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools\Basics_19

All the soundpools should now be reinstalled and work without any problems.
