SoundForge 12.1 (Build 170) - Loosing tracks while saving file

Coinfra-Secom wrote on 4/14/2021, 1:16 PM

Initially some audio is recorded and saved without quitting the program. Some editing is performed and, as we choose save, sometimes, part or all audio is lost.

Does anybody is facing this problem? Is there a solution? Workarounds?

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users forum @Coinfra-Secom .

I have never experienced that particular issue but others have.
Are the files saved as MP3? If so, enable "Always proxy compressed formats" in the "Options> Preferences> General" menu.
FWIW, MP3 and other loosy formats are typically for end-user distribution. All editing and subsequent saves should be kept in the PCM uncompressed format. When editing and mastering is complete. the PCM master be used to encode end-user lossy formats.

Alternately, the non-destructive mode can be used. 'Save As' SF Pro Project file <.frg> Then 'Render as' to encode the end user files or a final PCM master.

Rraud,

Yes, we work with MP3 format. We have always used this format and never had problems when we worked with previous versions of Sound Forge and Windows 7. After the upgrade to Windows 10 and Sound Forge version 12, the problems began. We will try "Always proxy compressed formats". Hope this solve the problem.

Thank you.
