Hi

. . . . . speed up video footage above the Factor 4 limit set in Movie Edit Pro's Speed Effects . . . .

The limit is imposed by the audio track,.

Unlink the audio from the video and remove it, at the higher speeds it will no longer intelligible, you can then increase the speed either using the Stretch mouse mode or type the speed factor into the box at the end of the speed slider in speed dialog.

Hi John EB, thanks for super-speedy reply! I've disconnected the audio file, and typed 8 into the box, but this still doesn't seem to increase the speed. I'm not sure what you mean by 'stretch mouse'. Excuse my lack of knowlege, I'm a bit of a novice at this! Thanks again for your assistance.

Cheers,

Hi,

1. Remove the audio object
2. Select the video object
3. Video Effects > Speed
4. Enter a factor, e.g. 8.
5. Press the Enter key.

The object's duration should now be reduced by a factor of 8 and should play 8 times faster.

If it doesn't, please spell out exactly what you see.

That's great, many thanks for your help - simple when you know how! I spend six hours yesterday filming a team of scaffolders taking down the scaffold from around the top of our town hall, and want to speed the sequence up so it onlasts a few minutes. I can now do this, so many thanks again.
