Static when more than 1 object is merged or overlapped

ron-clayson wrote on 4/15/2021, 11:34 PM

I am using Magix Movie Edit Pro 2021 Premium I have an old Del Latitude E6410laptop using Windows 10 and Intel i5 processor. Whenever I try to over-lap one scene over another, or try to merge scenes there is a very loud static. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the software already with no change in performance. Is the problem my computer or is the software? Any idea how to solve the problem?

Hi Ron. Welcome to the User to user forums.

You could be suffering an audio buffer under-run. Have you tried adjusting the audio buffers in the program settings? It's hard to tell without precise computer specs. We need the model of i5 processor. So i5700k for instance and also the amount of physical memory. Also are all your drivers up to date for graphics and sound?

It could be the age of the computer if the hardware is not within the spec page for running the program but MEP 2021 may be able to run under Windows compatibility mode.

It could also be the audio codecs of the clips involved or the audio sample rate of the videos.

Lots of variables to take into account without more information I'm afraid.

These are my audio settings for MEP 2021. They may work for you, or may not.

Ray.

Hi

. . . . an old Del Latitude E6410laptop using Windows 10 and Intel i5 processor . . . .

Depending on the video resolution you are working with, I would expect more performance issues with Movie Edit Pro (MEP) 2021 on the laptop, which unfortunately is below the minimum system requirements for MEP and Windows 10.

Working with SD (720 x 576 or 720 x 480) should be OK, HD (1280 x 720) may be manageable and Full HD 1920 x 1080 or may be very poor to unmanageable.

Thank you both, Ray & John for your feedback. I will try both of your ideas. (Looks like I might need to spring for a new computer). Lower resolution will work for my purposes, perhaps that's the answer.

Hi Ray & John,

I started exporting with SD files and the problem went away. I guess that's the answer until I upgrade.

Thanks so much. Both of you
