@Pennyglen

I notice you raised a very similar question in an earlier thread. Is this, actually, the same problem recurring?

Are you still using MEP 2016 (as in that earlier thread)? Does the solution you discovered then help now?

Does the movie actually "play" but the cursor does not move, or is the problem that the actual movie will not play?

Also, is this the same computer, i.e. your OS is an upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10? What hardware do you have in your computer? (CPU, RAM, GPU, Hard Drives, etc., etc.)

Yes still MEP 2016. New much more powerful Computer Windows 10 64bit Intel Pentium J5005 running at 1.5 GHz, 8GB RAM 931 GB Hard Drive with 709 GB still free. It was running perfectly but stopped working properly on all projects, not just the one I was working on, after I deleted an audio track track I was working on to replace it with a new one from a CD. Don't know it that was connected to the issue. Yes the movie plays with sound and vision but it's just that the curser doesn't track. Can move the curser to another position on the movie and movie plays but cursor still won't track.

Appreciate you help Jeff. I suppose I could just unstall the program and re install it from the MAGIX site as I still have the serial number but I don't want to risk losing all the projects I've done on the machine that are now music movies on YouTube!!

@Pennyglen

Hi

Try clicking the double headed arrow icon bottom right of the timeline pane

and check in the Program Settings, Playback tab that Spacebar stops at current playback position option is selected.

If that does not work then reset the program to default settings - File, Settings, Reset program settings to default - do note that this will reset any customisations you have made eg default folder locations etc.

Many thanks JohnEB, I really appreciate your help. I rolled back the computer to a reset point and it fixed it, but if this happens again I will keep a copy of your suggestion and do that first. I am really grateful that you and Jeff have taken such trouble to help me so quickly. Thank you so much. I am producing another video for a new Christian song that I have written and hope to release on YouTube at the weekend, prior to releasing it as another single on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes etc next month and was disappointed that, after spending hours and hours writing and recording it, it looked like I was not going to get it out this weekend. Thanks again so much. Best wishes, Glen Penfold.
