Takes 45 seconds to open Brightness/Contrast effect, others instant

Latest version of MEP and updates current.

I've reinstalled. I can move between Camera zoom and titles and back and forth. But as soon as I try using the Brightness effect, I get an hour glass and I just times it at 45 seconds. Seems quite odd. Once in Brightness, everything reacts quickly to make changes. But if I move away and then come back - same delay.

Odd indeed. I can't reproduce here in either MEP 2017 Premium or MEP 2016 Premium.

Hi

What is your computer specification - include:

  1. processor make/model?

  2. RAM?

  3. hard drive(s) size and free space?

  4. graphics card used if you have one?

  5. are the graphics drivers up to date?

  6. Windows version?

  7. If Windows 10 was this an upgrade from 7 or 8?

Hi

. . . . Total amount of system memory8.00 GB RAM . . . . Gaming graphics3968 MB Total available graphics memory . . . . Shared system memory2048 MB . . . .

Thanks for the information.

Assuming the GTX 750 Ti has 2 GB of on board RAM, based on total graphics RAM available is ~4GB and 2 GB of this coming from the shared system memory, the figures I have quoted above from the data provided, would indicate that your PC is running with only 6GB of memory available for Windows and programs to use.

This is a similar situation I had several years ago when trying a 2GB ATI graphics card on my old PC with 8GB of RAM.

Check how much RAM is available and being used by MEP in Task Manager.

Check in your computers BIOS and or the graphics cards control panel to see if you can reduce the amount of RAM shared with the graphics card to say 1GB as a start and see if this improves the response and again check RAM usage in Task Manager .

I would suggest, if possible, increasing the PC's RAM to 16GB if the motherboard has the necessary free slots available and you have access to a friendly computer repair business who would be willing to allow you test more RAM on sale or return.

FYI - I dumped the 2GB card, computer was not used as a gaming machine, and put in one with only 1 GB of onboard RAM and increased the amount of PC RAM.
