Temp files created repeatedly from MVD's

I have a 4 hour recording that i edited and split up into 7 movies (in Video Pro X).  I exported each of them into MVD's, so i could move them to another computer easily and reorganize things.  When i import the first MVD onto the new computer, it creates temp files for the full 4 hour file (which is fine).  But when i bring in the next MVD, it creates the temp files again (it adds "001" to the name).  Is it possible to get all 7 MVD's to use the same temp file, instead of making a new one each time (they're quite large)?

I have a lot of (roughly) 4 hour recordings that have been edited and split into (roughly) 7 movies, they all have this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi

. . . . it creates temp files for the full 4 hour file . . . .

VPX creates several types of 'temp' files .H0, .HDP, .WAV (depending on import file type) and proxy files (if you have them turned on).

Which files are you referring to?

It creates all three files (HO, HDP, and WAV), and i'm not sure what proxy files are so i must not have those on. When i import the second MVD, it creates another copy of each of the three temp files (with 001, 002, ect. added on).

just wanted to clarify:

it makes "filename_avi.H0", "filename_avi.HDP", and "filename_avi.wav" when i import the first MDV

it makes "filename_avi_001.H0", "filename_avi_001.HDP", and "filename_avi_001.wav" when i import the second MDV

it makes "filename_avi_002.H0", "filename_avi_002.HDP", and "filename_avi_002.wav" when i import the third MDV

and so on...

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about this, because i'd like to get this figured out by Saturday if possible.
