The default crossfade for different clips stopped working

The default crossfade for different clips stopped working -

I must have pressed the wrong button somehow but I don't know which?

So now instead of fading in and fading out into another clip, it just cuts.

In fact. all my work has changed... all the previous fades are gone and it all cuts from one clip to another...

I feel ridiculous - btw, my 1st post here, loving the product.

Hi

Welcome to the forum.

First we need more information:-

  1. Computer specification - processor make/model, graphics card or chipset, RAM,  hard drive configuration, sizes and free space?

  2. Windows version and is it up to date?  Press and hold down the Windows key and the R key - in the dialog that opens type in winver and press enter.

  3. Software full name and version number - as found under Help, About . . .

  4. A screen shot of the timeline may help showing detail as in the image at 5 below - zoom in on the timeline with the + buttons bottom right as indicated below

  5. Are the crossfades still showing on the objects as shown circled below

Also please read this post before replying and add any other information you think may be relevant.

Hi Thank You for the quick reply.

I loaded a previous save and all is good now. But for your information...

I'm using Windows 10 version 1703

gtx 1080 ti

32gig ram

intel core i7 3.6Ghz

3. Movie edit pro steam version 16.0.3.66

4. yes. I had it zoomed in and all - everything which had previously cross faded just cut to another scene/clip. But as I said, I used a previous save when I couldn't figure it out. I have overloaded my video with plenty of different music, video clips and tons of effects whilst working on something else. Other than that, all is good except for the occasional freeze.

Hi

Thanks for letting us know you have recovered the project.

I am puzzled as to why all the transitions disappeared/changed to cut.

AFAIK there is only one action you could have taken, other than loading an earlier version of the same project with no crossfades, that would do this and that is selecting a crosscut transition and selecting one of the 2 options indicated below.

Oh my. That's what I probably pressed by accident. I must admit, I have been working 2 days on this pointless video, so maybe with lack of sleep I messed up. Thanks so much, much appreciated.

Movie edit pro steam version 16.0.3.66

Have you tried updating your program via "Help>Update Online" or is that the latest version available on Steam? MEP Premium has had many patches since .66.
