Hello - I have not used this program in a real long time. I am trying to transfer a VHS to a DVD. I tried opening the program last night and it told me I had to reinstall it so I started do that then I went to bed. I got up and cam back to the computer and I opened Movie Edit Pro 15 and I went to import (the VHS is already on the PC). I went to the edit tab and there is nothing there. and I cannot figure anything out. I see the menu bar at the top then the rest of the screen is blank. Can someone please help.

2nd part of the question - about three years ago I transferred all my VHS home videos onto the PC to burn to a Blu Ray DVD back in the day we would grab any tape to record things on so most of the home videos are out of order on multiple tapes what is the easiest way to grab segments from multiple tapes and put them in order?

Thank you in advance.

Hi

. . . . Movie Edit Pro 15 . . . .

Do you mean Movie Edit Pro 15 or Movie Edit Pro 2015?

What is the full name and version number as seen under Help?

Has anything changed on the computer since you last used the program eg updated to Windows 10 from 7 or 8?

. . . . it told me I had to reinstall it . . . .

Was the the message something like 'A problem occurred, the program may be damaged, try re-installing to fix the error' or was it asking to reactivate/register?

If the program is Movie Edit Pro 15 and you upgraded to Windows 10, then the program is not compatible with Windows 10 - you would need to upgrade to a Windows 10 compatible version.

If the program is Movie Edit 2015 and you upgraded to Windows 10 then try re-installing following this procedure.

. . . . what is the easiest way to grab segments from multiple tapes and put them in order . . . .

To save time and avoid making multiple recordings from each tape, I would record each tape in its entirety and then cut this and save the required segments as Takes which you can then sort into folders and/or rename.

Once this all done you can then assemble the Takes to make movie correctly.

Hello - I have Magix Movie Edit Pro 15. If I were to guess I purchased it in 2009-2010 I have never upgraded. Just this past year I updated my Dell PC to Windows 10 and I forgot about a lot of programs that do not seem to work. Currently I have about 27 VHS tapes that I already have put onto my Dell PC. A few years back I was trying to burn DVD to a blu ray with Magix. The book I got with the program said it would work. My husband and I just dabble in this. He is better than me. I am looking to put these VHS tapes on blu ray as a gift for my dad and I am not opposed at upgrading but if I upgrade I want to make sure that It will do blu rays.My parents only have a blu ray player.

Since my first post. I reinstalled Magix and then the pop up message went away but I am very concerned about putting a lot of time into these videos and then something not working so can you please advice what I should do. Thank you in advance.

Thanks,

Vicki

Hi

As I posted above, you need to upgrade to a newer version that is Windows 10 compatible - see here.

Hi - I was finally able to take take the time today to upgrade my Magix. Prior to purchasing it I looked at all the specs that my PC needed to run it. I thought everything was ok. So I went ahead and purchased the Move Edit 2017 Pro Plus. I installed it. I registered it. Then this error message came up. It is Videodeluxe

Failed to create OpenGL context for format QSurfaceFormat(version 2.0, Options QFlags0, deapthBufferSize 24, redBufferSize -1, greenBufferSize -1, swapBehavior 2, swapInterval 1, Profile 0).

This is most likely caused by not having the necessary graphics drivers installed.

Install a driver providing OpenGL 2.0 or higher, or if this is not possible, make sure the ANGLE Open GL ES 2.0 emulation libraries (libEGL.dll, libGLESv2.dll and d3dcompiler_*.dll are available in the applications executable's directory or in a location listed in PATH. What do I do next or where do I find the driver to download

Thanks,

Hi

The error messages indicate that either the graphics card/chipset does not support OpenGL or the drivers are out of date and need updating.

What is your computer specification - include processor make/model, graphics card make/model if not using integrated graphics, RAM, hard drive size and free space.

Hi

. . . . to tell me that I need to upgrade my PC . . . .

Unfortunately the Intel GMA 3100 graphics chipset only supports OpenGL 1.4.

It may be possible to add a graphics card, however this depends on:

  1. a free PCI slot on the motherboard is available

  2. if you can find a card which will fit the slot and supports OpenGL 2

Failing both of the above then a computer upgrade would be required.
