This program (Edit pro 2015 Premium) keeps restarting and I get windows error message

I was in the process of editing and tried to add an effect, and every time, I get a message saying that the program has stopped working windows is looking for a solution. Without adding anything to it, it plays just fine but should I try and add an effect to the clip, the program goes into restart mode.

I'm working with  Windows 7 Home.. 16G 8core 4.0 & 5T HD

We enjoy making music videos and documentaries. The Robert Allen documentary is based his journey of 30 years in a U.S. prison for a crime that he did not commit. He hopes that this documentary will help him clear his name as he struggles to rebuild his life in America.

Hi,

Did you update to the latest patch?

Does MEP give you the same problem in a new project?  Or is it just one particular project?

Does this occur with one particular effect and not others? If so, then which effect?

Did you try putting effects on oblects (video or photo files) from different sources? If not, try it. I had a problem with one particular effect on a .mov file recently. Worked fine on mts and other type files.

Hi

In addition to John CB's answer

If it is a particular effect try turing off Hardware acceleration for mpeg 4 . . . in the programs settings Video/Audio tab (if it is turned on) and add the effect again

Also please include your full computer specification
