Thumbnail issue

jeffjn wrote on 3/14/2014, 5:17 AM

There seems to be a problem with generation of thumbnails for the first frame of some clips on the timeline or the storyboard.

Here is a simple formula to demonstrate to issue:

If you have the physical version, you will have the _Demo project in Import/My media/Projects/

Open a new movie and switch to Storyboard view

Locate the first three MXV files in the _Demo project and send or drag them to the movie area.

If the Movie settings message comes up it doesn't matter if you selecct adjust or ignore.

The third clip clip_003 has the wrong thumbnail - it has the same thumbnail as clip_002.

Hi Jeff,

I reproduced that.

It seems to apply to just about all 72 MXV files. This is what I see after dragging all of them into MEP 2014 Premium 13.0.3.1.4 (UDC2):

Hi

There is only one condition under which this occurs - the mxv files showing the same preview image are exported sections of one movie clip.

Real world looks like this

Hi res version here

In the alternate world it looks like this

Hi res version here

The way I got into the 'alternate world' was to export 3 mxv files from a single movie clip with 3 different export ranges selected.  As you can see in the assets tab the preview images are correct, however, once they get on the timeline, they are all the same.

This is a display bug and also gives an odd behaviour in timeline mode - the second clip has the same 1st preview image as the first clip but the third is correct.

Hi res version here

Thanks for testing this. I've heard back from Magix, who have replicated the bug and forwarded it to the developers.
