@naif-alrumaihi What happens if you go to to the top left - Window - Window Arrangement - click Standard?

the screen shows a larger view of the preview screen. however when I add a movie to edit, it doesn't show the timeline.

@naif-alrumaihi can you show a full screen capture like this, you can use the Snipping Tool in Windows Accessories in the Start menu.

It sounds like you are in Storyboard mode. Switch to timeline mode.
