Travel route animation does not work - script error

Hengist wrote on 11/1/2016, 5:20 AM

Magix Video Edit Pro, 16.01.22 (UDP3).

I noticed this last night when I went to make a travel route animation. It wouldn't let me change the map type - no options appeared when I ticked "Map Selection".

Today, it doesn't work at all. When it loads the wizard, I just get various script errors and it doesn't even get as far as loading the default map.

"An error has occurred in a script on this page" dialog opens, with the URL given as: http://www.openstreetmap.org/openlayers/OpenStreetMap.js

This is on Win10, with strong internet connection and up to date hardware. It's worked fine up until now.

Can anyone explain why this is happening? Thanks! (also asked Tech Support)

Hi,

See this thread.

It has been down for a couple of weeks with VPX and now is not working with MEP. Only way seems to be to raise tickets with Magix.

Just tried it again, and it's partially back. No scripting errors but still cannot create animation,

Answer from Tech Support:

"There was a temporary problem with this program component, due to some changes in the APIs of the external services we're using for this. This has already been addressed by our developers and a patch has been issued for Movie Edit Pro (2017) in the meantime. If you haven't done so yet, please download and install the fix via the appropriate auto-update option in the "Help" menu or via our support website."

I did that, and it now seems to be functional. :)

Hi,

Thanks for the update. I just tried it in MEP2016 Premium and it works, and there was no patch.

Tried VPX and it is still broken. First attempt, it showed script errors. Second attempt, the map opened with the locations of my photos, but Preview would not run.

Strange.

I'm having the same issues with TRA....sometimes it will work, most times it won't. I've downloaded the latest updates. I'm using MEP 2014 PLUS. Latest is 13.0.5.5. Seems to be really intermittent. I don't know if it's MEP, the website it calls for maps, or Windows 10. Or Javascript. Help.

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

First, MEP 2014 is now, in software terms, classed as "old", unfortunately, so it may be any combination of the possible sources you give is the cause of your problems with TRA. Unless another user has the same version as you still installed - I don't, I'm afraid - it may be very difficult to suggest a solution.

I realise this is no consolation to you but what I can say is that I have just made extensive use of TRA in the latest version of MEP/VPX and it performed without problem, running Win 10 with Creators Update.
