This is my first project. How to incorporate GoPro videos into projects? Error says I need HEVC codec feature which I purchased and added. It also asks for the activation code, but doesn't accept the one that was received at the time of purchase.
If you purchased the one from Magix it is an encoder. Not a decoder and used for exporting from MEP to HEVC.
To play HEVC files within Movie Edit Pro you will need the Microsoft HEVC decoder from the Microsoft store.
Both are not free to use I'm afraid and are paid for codecs. Some software can come with them included but are normally accounted for in the purchase price of the software. Be aware that uninstalling the software and reinstalling the program can cause the codecs to need to be repurchased or or new activation codes to be sought for.
. . . . doesn't accept the one that was received at the time of purchase . . . .
Does the product serial number you are trying to activate with begin with P3- ?
If so this is not the HEVC activation code - when you purchased the HEVC codec you should have received an email with a serial number beginning with (IIRC) HEVCIC-.
If you did not get this email check your mail spam folder, emails from Magix often end up there.
Thanks, I'll check out what both of you mentioned. The files from my Canon Camcorder seem to load just fine, so my gut tells me it's something to do with GoPro.

Thanks, the s/n does begin with P3 so I'll see about getting the correct activation code.
