Hi and welcome to the forum.
There are 2 forms of popup you are likely to see:
- A new patch notiication - these are usually bug fixes and occassionally may add a feature to the program.
- The other, which I suspect is what you are seeing, is the news popup - this can be uninstalled - see this comment.
