The only way you can run Movie Edit Pro successfully on any MAC laptop or computer is to make is dual booting using Bootcamp and install Windows and MEP on the second partition, do note thata as MEP writes temporary files to the source files folder you cannot use files on the MACOs partition - it is read only.
You would have to copy the files to the Windows partition or install 3rd party software see here - there is no guarantee this will work.
Using Parallels or similar virtual machine software may cause issues with MEPs functionality.
If you go down this route i would suggest testing with the trial version of MEP, however, this may not identify if there are any issues as it has limited functionality and format support which become available on purchase and activation.
