Unwelcome Recording Feedback and Echoing

Hi everyone,

I'm currently having issues with the program, MAGIX Samplitude Music Studio (version 24.0.0.36.)

I'm using Windows 10, and I believe it's downloaded in 64-bit (if I'm using that correctly?).

For the year that I've had this program, everything has worked splendidly. However, just last month, everything went awry. Let it be known that I know very little about the technical lexicon used to describe such issues, so please bear with me and my layman descriptions.

I can no longer record with a microphone without receiving feedback in my recordings. Moreover, now everything echoes several times. (This is not due to Audio Monitoring turned on, because all recorded sounds echo more than once, regardless of whether or not I'm wearing earbuds).

Audio channeled straight through to the program, e.g. through a keyboard plugged into the audio interface, seems to suffer no such issues. I only have problems with microphonic recording.
Changing the sample rates doesn't fix anything. Messing with the VIP Object Buffer rate, the purpose of which I know not, doesn't seem to work.

When I turn on Shared Mode, for whatever frustrating reason, it irreversibly changes the tempo and the pitch of the entire multitrack session. Furthermore, it continues to echo.

When I turn on Exclusive Mode, there is extreme crackling, and often it initiates a white noise feedback loop that exponentially amplifies.

I've tried several fixes, all of which avail nothing. Just the other day, I deleted the program and redownloaded it from the CD; however, this did nothing.

If somebody could help me to resolve these, I would forever be indebted.

Thanks,

M. Wicket

Lowering the buffersize of your audio interface and mute the hardware output of the corresponding input on your audio interface. You can do that by using the software that comes with your audio interface.

Software: Samplitude Pro X, Samplitude Music Studio MX, Pro Tools 9.05, VideoDeLuxe 17, Windows 7 HP 64bit

Hardware:Core2Quad Q6600, 4 Gb RAM, MB: Asus P5K, GeForceGTX 470 (1215 Mb), Seagate 500 Gb HD, RME FF400, Presonus DigiMaxD8, M-box2, BCF2000

Dear Moon,

Thank you for your time and attention; I really appreciate it! Alack, while the propounded solution didn't work, I was able to resolve the issue by changing the drivers from WASAPI (which I've used from the beginning) to MME (which now seems to work just fine).

Thanks again!

Happy New Year and God bless,
