Update patch 14.0.0.116 FAIL!

kodiakarts wrote on 2/9/2015, 1:37 PM

My Question is wrong, it should read Version 14.0.0.166 (can't edit the question line)

I have MEP 2015, installed the latest patch trying to fix a burn disk problem, and now I can't burn at all. Some patch! The programs said it fails on encoding, I've tried many different things but it will fail all the time, both on DVD and Blu-Ray

Any Ideas?

Computer Specs,

Intel Quad i5 4670 3.8Ghz

16GB Ram

Windows 7 64bit

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems.

First, could you correct the subject of your question? The patch is ...166, not ...116, and this might mislead others.

Could you give us screen shots of your burn parameters, all of them, including advanced, etc. so that we can see if there is something astray? I have had surprises.

What OS are you using and what are the specs of your computer?

Hi,

Interesting. You are trying to burn a 2h24m video on the DVD. I don't think they like that. 90m is about the max.

Have you tried with a shorter project? I just tried a small one and encoded it to a directory. No problems whatsoever.

On your second screen below, click on Advanced and post the screen shot of the General settings tab and the Video settings tab. Do the settings correspond to your project settings? PAL or NTSC, speed, format?

What is the destination of your encoding file? Is it on a hard disk that you have access to?

I usually encode first, then use Speed burnR. See under File, Burn CD/DVD, Burn copy of an already created video disk, and follow the instructions to locate the encoded files.

Did you review the problems that the other fellow had? I believe that he had to remove a Windows update that was causing problems.

Thanks John,
Before the patch I was able to burn this project to both DVD and Blu-Ray, the original problem I had was the Audio was out of sync with the burned Video, but was perfect in editing. I installed the patch in the hopes that it would correct my problem.
To get the 2H24m project to fit the disks, I adjusted the bit rate in the "encoding settings" tab, click the "Adapt Bit Rate" and the project  will fit the disk. I can't chop the project over 2 disks, this is a Musical from the local Players group, they want it on one disk.
The 3rd screen shot is from the "Advanced" tap

I have full access on my system, all drives, all files, like I said, this is only after I installed the patch.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi,

This is out of my league. Perhaps John Baker can chime in on this and help out.

The advanced screen should look like the next 2 images:

Did you try burning a small project to see if it works?

Hi

@ kodiakarts

The settings you are using look fine to me - I have succesfully burned 3 x NTSC DVDs using the settings shown in your images below with both the MpegIntel codecs and the MainConcept codecs

What we need to know is which stage in the burn process the error occurs.  Post a section of the log from the the start of the burn porcess - indicated by the date and time as shown below

-------------------------- 26/11/2013 22:11:21 --------------------------

up to and including the line where the error occurs.

Do you have any 'all in one' codec packs installed?

Hey guys,
Thanks for your help, although I believe the main burning problem occurred after the patch I imported the project to MEP 2013, I was able to burn a DVD there and encode to a folder, I still had audio problem with it not syncing up with the video, but I think that was only because the project was made with MEP 2015 64bit ( I forgot how slow MEP 2013 was). I've decided to delete MEP 2015 and reinstall it after I do a system restore to an earlier state, ( I'm having some other issues that suddenly cropped up) but I will get back to you and let your know how it turns out.
Thanks again.

Update to my problem:
Hello,
I've un-installed and reinstalled MEP 2015 Premium, now running the version before the latest patch. I can once again burn to any media but my original problem still resides, but to a lesser degree. Now encoding my 2.4h video project still has the audio out of sync, its fine at the beginning but 3/4 of the way through you can start to notice it falling out of sync and by the end its of by 1/2 a second.
The only thing I can think of the could be a possible cause for this is the video is longer than the disk media can hold, to compensate for this I use the adapt bit rate button to make the video fit the media.

What I will do next is encode the project again to a folder in it's full size without using that function to confirm and see if that corrects it, if it does, then that function is an useless function, I would have expected some down grading of the video and sound quality, but not an audio sync problem.

Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks
