Update version VideoProX will not display audio waveform

I installed the update for Video Pro X on 10/12/21 and initially the usual "display audio waveform" was available for a video, but all of a sudden that option disappeared, whether I right clicked on the video or created separate tracks for the video and the audio and then right clicked to display the waveform (which message is displayed on the audio track). I had started a new project with this updated version and now that the audio waveform won't display I'm in trouble.

Version19.0.1.123 of Video Pro X. Using a laptop with Windows 10

Hi Bob.

I don't have VPX 13 but do have the latest MEP 2022 version. I can't see that function missing. I've even tried setting the program to run at its least effective graphics selections, working my way up from setting the program to only use the CPU.

I still see the instruction on the wave track and get the correct available function with the right click of the mouse.

Do you have your audio and video tracks combined?

Can you give a screen shot please?

Hi

The following work for me:

  • AC-3 Stereo and Dolby Surround Sound
  • AAC Stereo
  • PCM Stereo

Additionally - for recordings where the audio level is low you cannot see the waveform without zooming in vertically on the timeline.

Can you post a MediaInfo analysis of one of the video clips that does not display or give you the option, see this tutorial for how to set up MediaInfo and analyse a clip.

Well, the problem disappeared the next time I tried VPX 13, so things seem OK for now as far as the audio goes.
