Upgrade path from Movie Edit Pro Plus

I just got a new computer. Not sure if I can migrate that software to the new computer or if I should look for an upgrade.

Does anyone know if there is an upgrade discount?

What software could be close to the above version or should I look for a new program?

Mainly what I do is take photos and my short videos and edit them into a slide show with fades, pans, zooms and other effects as well as adding titles and a music track.

I have been through who knows how many versions of Magix software since about 2002.

Any help would be appreciated.

Movie Edit Pro 2020 it should run OK on the new PC and Windows 11, with the performance, mainly hardware Acceleration of decoding/encoding video, depending on the following:

Intel CPU with an integrated iGPU, the Intel iGPU can be used for HWA.
AMD CPU with integrated Radeon GPU, may be able to be used for HWA, testing will need to be done.
The CPU has no integrated GPU, then there is no HWA available for Nvidia graphics cards, this was introduced with MEP 2021.
Some AMD graphics card may provide some HWA, again testing will need to be done.

My recommendation would be to update to Video Deluxe 2026 the difference in features and performance is much better than MEP 2020.

MEP was renamed to Movie Studio and is now called Video Deluxe, the name used in the EU and other regions. You can get this for the upgrade price as you already have MEP.

Your signature is still showing the old PC.

Magix replied with this info but I don't see the license option

"You can select the permanent licence upgrade option for Video Deluxe within the programme series and add it to your shopping basket. Your Movie Edit Pro Plus programme is included in the Video Deluxe programme series."

Hi.

I've just visited the Magix website and I can't find those buying links either.

I have sent them a complaint with explanation via the pop-up box that comes up if you say you won't recommend that web page.

Also at the top of each page individual product page is a Vegas reminder.

I did eventually find the page needed for a perpetual upgrade offer. For the UK it is here.

Not sure how to get to that via other possible country links.

Certainly it is much harder to find than it used to be.

System information can be copied and pasted from

Settings / System / About , but remove the system and computer ID after pasting to your Signature as that is personal and not needed information. Slightly further down from that you can copy and paste the current version of your operating system.

Neither of which will give the GPU driver versions you may be running.

Hi John.

Yes, eventually it did, but going to the Magix main product page and navigating from there was not my initial experience and the buy now option did not give an upgrade option.

Have just now tried again and it's working by clicking on the buy now button. No idea why it didn't on my first attempt.

I just tried on the UK page. Did not get to the license page. It just offered the Visa/MC options but no license options. I guess I can try the US page again and again and see if that pops open.

Okay, weird... But, hey, I've been working with computers for many decades but this time when I followed through on the US site, it offered the license option and upgrade offer. I followed through and purchased. Hopefully, I will notice the improvements in this version.
