@TayRoamer

Hi and welcome to the forum.

There is a significant difference between version MEP 10 and MEP 2019, in both the interface and functionality.

It would help if we knew your PC specification - details of what is required are here.

With MEP 10 this would suggest you are working with and/or exporting SD (720x576 PAL or 720x480 NTSC) video or DVD discs.

If you are intending to move up to HD, FullHD or 4K video import or export or Bluray disc then having 6GB of RAM would suggest that the PC may not meet the MEP 2019 requirements for working with these formats.

I would advise you download the trial version and test that - do note that the project files are different and if you are able to open an existing MEP 10 project in MEP 2019, it may not, and save it from MEP 2019 you will not be able to open in MEP 10 again, only test on a copy of an old project.

You would have to ask Magix if the version you have qualifies for an upgrade price or whether you have to purchase at the first time buy price. The Contact link at the bottom of the forum pages will take you through the process.

@TayRoamer

Do I need a previous version installed first, or will the 'upgrade' run as a complete programme?

The simple answer to your question is: No, The upgrade is a complete program/installation.

It is only the price and possibly the extra content that differs.

Hoeever, I would strongly recommend you to follow @johnebaker s advice to check out your computer specification and verify that they are co pliant with the new version requirements. Also note that these are minimum requirements.
