Hi

Use Youtubes own uploader if these are finished videos and are in a YT compatible format.

If they are still in project form, ie you have not exported them yet and:

  1. you still have MEP 2018 then it is likely that the built in Share option will not work in which case create your project then export, to your PC and then use YT uploader to put the video into your channel.

    or

  2. you have MEP 2020 then the Share Youtube option does work and you can upload from within the program to your channel.

Hi,

But when I upload the video, do I keep it as MPEG-2? And will it upload with best possible quality?

@jak.willis

Hi

. . . . do I keep it as MPEG-2 . . . .

Ideally for retaining maximum quality the project setting should match the source video, as the source videos are DVD (SD) quality - 720 x 576 the project setting should be set to this.

That is also the setting you should use for exporting the video as MP4 - there is nothing to be gained by upscaling and exporting as for example MP4 1920 x 1080 - the picture quality will deteriorate due to the upscaling.

YT will convert your video to MP4 and also lower resolutions if the viewer is on a slow Internet connection, there is nothing you can do about this.

Hello,

Okay. So when I first export to PC, should I export as MPEG-2 or H.264?
