USB analogue to digital device from RYVT not working

brian.turner51 wrote on 8/9/2014, 3:49 PM

I have an analogue to digital device from RYVT and hoped to use it with movie pro 2014 plus to convert analogue VHS to files on my PC. I keep getting the message 'could not connect to selected device'. No light is showing in the USB converter. Is it just broken or am I doing something wrong. PC is running windows 8.1. Any help greatly appreciated. Brian

Hi Brian,

Did you install the device driver before connecting the device. If not, then disconnect, install the driver, then reconnect. I don't have the device or program, so I am guessing. I have one by a competitor. Make sure that you followed all of the steps for installing and connecting the device.

If you don't have the driver, you should be able to login and download it from here.

Hi John

good call on the driver. I thought I had looked everywhere but couldn't find it. Just reied to install and I'm getting the message 'installer encountered an error; 0x80096002. The certificate for the signer of the message is invalid or not found'. I'll have a trawl on the net but any ideas?

Hi Brian

Open the Windows 8 Charm bar and select Settings

Select Control panel,  Programs, Turn Windows Features on off.

Enable the option shown below

Then reinstall the drivers.

Thanks John. tried that [item wasn't checked], re-installed, re-booted and same message. I'm using the red/white converter. Could it be anything to do with that? [can't find anything on the net]. Appreciate the help from you guys. Brian

Hi

I would suspect that if your Windows 8.1 is the 64 bit version then it has installed the 64 bit driver when you need the 32 bit driver.

Try downloading and installing the driver from here  note you will need to login using the email address and password you used to register the software.

Thanks again John. Driver seems to have downloaded OK but now my device [VHS player] isn't recognised. I upgraded from Video easy to movie edit pro and, on the offchance, tried VE 5 and everything works. I'll keep trying MEP2014 but am happy enough plodding on with VE5. Thanks again for all the help on the forum..........Maybe one day I'll know enough to help soemone else out. All the best. Brian
