Using LG TV as monitor

ken-penn wrote on 3/24/2017, 7:36 AM

After loading the Magix software onto my PC, I open the video edit pro 2016, only to get a lialog box pop up stating : The program cannot be displayed correctly, Please increase the screen resolution or reduce the display zoom. It offer to ignore this message, or cancel, but the program, when opened, looks ok but all the 3 main windows in the software are behaving wierd like. Can only see a portion of the lower window for importing videos. and resizing the window upsets the layout.

I've tried all the screen resolution setting on offer and I get the same problem every time. Can you help.

The screen options range from 1920 x1080 to 800 x 600 using the PC own screen resolution options.

Regards

Ken

Hi

I assume the LG TV is a acting as a second monitor - is it connected through HDMI or VGA cable?

To get the correct display then all connected monitors should have the same aspect ratio (AR) and resolution.

You may be able to adjust the TV in your graphics display manager to display the correct AR/resolution.

Depending on how you are using the LG - an alternative is to use the TV as the Preview window - which you can drag across to it and then make it full screen - this would leave the timeline and other panes on your PC monitor.

I have a 32" LG TV screen which has an aray of different connection, but I mostly use it for my Freeview box, PS4 gaming and video, and computer work when neccessary. Window works fine I have no problems operating windows 7. But on loading your software off the desk top icon, problems begin to surface.

I have an LG monitor as well and the same problem has come to light, after I went and bought the adaptor for the DVI-D (24+1) 25 Pin Male To HDMI and using and HDMI lead to connect to the PNY GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card, because the monitor only has the DVI-D and standard VGA connector.

Both screens are set to thier maxium resolution.

Why can't I use your software in this environment?

Hi,

Begin to reduce the zoom factor on font size this help. After use the LG screen as monitor 1 and configure 1920 x 1080 pixels screen size. Run the Magix software and reset the program to the original configuration check after the video normally is PAL but in USA it must be NTSC.

Hi guys, I've already tried that thanks Yvon Roberts, and tried changing the font size but made no difference. The LG monitor resolution John is set to max 1024x768. The display is set to Generic Non-PnP Monitor, there are no other postion in the drop down list.

I assume the LG TV is 1920 * 1080 ?

If so then check your graphics card control panel has the correct settings for each display.

The only way I have had different resolution screens to work is to put the review monitor on the lower resolution screen and the rest of the MEP interface on the high resolution monitor.
