Using Motion Tracking to center on an object throughout a sequence

Is it reasonably possible to using motion tracking from video shot from the DJI Mavic Pro to center an object in frame as the Mavic approaches it? I have shot some nice footage of a Falcon perched on some impressive rock structure that starts with the falcon barely visible. As the Mavic slowly approaches from high to low and comes up to the falcon below it, it frames the falcon at about 1/5th the frame size for a second or 2 before it takes flight off the lower left of the screen. It's pretty neat to watch, but would be so much nicer if I could (without key framing to death) track the footage to the falcon throughout the sequence.

Anyone?

Thanks.

Hi

There is no function in Movie Edit Pro (MEP) which performs the motion tracking in the sense of what you require.

However there may be a way using the Effects, View Animation, Camera Zoom shot effect to approximate what you want, and then add additional keyframes to smooth out the motion - depending on how steady the linear motion of the DJI footage this may not be overkill with keyframes.

It may also be worth adding a mask to draw the viewers eye to the falcon without centring the view as shown below

Is the video shot in 4K?

What is the final output resolution required?

Thanks John. I think I will put my efforts in this using Premiere or After Effects. I have been trying to use my purchased MEP product, but really I only bought it for 3D work, so I guess I will see what Adobe can do for me with this particular project.

Hi

Have you tried Mercalli V2 included with MEP for this. Try the different modes and adjustments.
