Using Template Transitions

I am fairly new to Mx Edit Pro. Have learnt the basics from some excellent videos. Now I am trying to do titles or text with special effects. So using the templates. I watched one video on You Tube but the instructor was too quick! Have looked at the Mx Tutorial video section. But can't identify which one covers how to use the template. I would love a title that comes down from the top and maybe disappears out the bottom. Or starts in the centre and fades out via the bottom. But my first step is to learn how to add an effect. I know I can drag it on to one of the timelines. Can you point me in the right direction a good training video that doesn't go to fast through the steps.

Hi Graham,

It’s difficult to know how best to help without more information. But from what you say I assume you’ve seen my very basic intro about titles here:

https://www.magix.info/us/tutorials/how-to-add-titles-in-movie-edit-pro--858495/

Although I expect you’re using a more recent version of MEP, the approach and many of the title templates remain very similar. So my advice is to simply experiment. Place a photo or movie clip on the timeline and add some text as shown. Then try changing it under the various categories. Even under Manual you can achieve several movement effects, and obviously many more under Move. Remember, you can’t break anything! And Undo (Ctrl + Z) is always at hand.

Then post again with a more specific question, showing us where you’ve got to, ideally with a screenshot or two.

Terry

When I add static text I edit the text on the main screen and use the editing area upper RH to change Font and colour. When I add a dynamic text it shows the text in dynamic form on the main screen. So do I have to edit it in the edit area. Normally if I edit on the main screen the text/title block shows the text entered on the main screen. If I edit a template say in the editing area it does change the title on the text on the time line. If I edit a dynamic text in the editor area will the text appear on the title bar of that effect on the time line. OK so I can experiment. But the way I have learnt best is to watch a Tutorial video of Magix on one screen and follow it in Magix open on the other screen.

@grahamm7

Hi Graham

With Dynamic titles you can use either of the the editing boxes arrowed in red below, confirm the change using the icon indicated by the green arrow.

Do note you have very limited editing with the Dynamic titles compared to the standard titles, however other effects such as Size and Position etc can be applied to them.
